11.30AM - Elizabeth Proudman - Jane Austen and the Landscape Garden

Elizabeth Proudman was Chairman of the Jane Austen Society and for many years has been a member of the Hampshire Gardens Trust and the Garden History Society. She lectures widely on Jane Austen and gardens, and it is interesting how the two subjects can intertwine. On the 200th anniversary of her death and therefore one of 2017's Literary Heroes, we are delighted to be bringing you this talk on Jane Austen and the Landscape Garden.

2.00PM - Johnny Messum of Messums Wiltshire - Placing Art and Sculpture in Landscape

Johnathan Messum is the founder/pioneer behind Messums Wiltshire which recently opened in Tisbury. An inspirational and innovative Art Centre, Messums Wiltshire offers a unique environment for both artists and collectors that celebrates the creative endeavour. Johnny has established relationships with international, national and local artists and collectors who support the gallery’s activities.

Johnathan’s vision is that Messums Wiltshire will be a cultural institution in the South West of England showcasing modern and contemporary art, design and performance, whilst also providing educational lectures and workshops as part of its exhibitions and events programme throughout the year.
