HAMPSHIRE COUNTRY & GARDEN FESTIVAL
IN SUPPORT OF THE HAMPSHIRE MEDICAL FUND, BUYING MUCH-NEEDED EQUIPMENT FOR BASINGSTOKE, WINCHESTER & ANDOVER HOSPITALS
The Hampshire Country & Garden Festival is dedicated to promoting the fun of the great outdoors and all it has to offer. We are celebrating the benefits to our health and wellbeing of gardening for all ages, healthy eating, inspiring speakers, learning new creative skills, enjoying music plus a wonderful array of childrens’ activities – in the most welcoming environment, the grounds of beautiful Bere Mill on the River Test. The Festival promotes all that is great about Hampshire, from food and drink suppliers to music, workshops and demonstrations, plant experts and nurseries. Whether you are an avid gardener or a family looking for a wholesome day out this is the event for you.
As well as a truly memorable, fun and informative experience all the money we raise is going to the Hampshire Medical Fund which supports our local hospitals and patients in Winchester, Andover and Basingstoke. Find out more here.
What will the Festival buy in 2020?
A revolutionary gynaecology clinic in Hampshire offering both investigation and treatment for women in a single hospital out-patient visit. The money raised by the 2020 Festival will buy the ground-breaking technologies needed to perform these one stop, minimally invasive surgeries. The impact of this unit will be far reaching for women living in Hampshire who are suffering from distressing menstrual symptoms. The Festival Committee is also hoping to raise enough funds to sponsor the training of a specialist nurse to run this groundbreaking and life-changing initiative.
In 2019, we raised the phenomenal amount of £55,000 which has enabled the Hampshire Medical Fund to purchase two Sysmex Sentimag Systems for the Breast Surgery departments in Basingstoke & Winchester Hospitals. The Sentimag Systems enable patients to no longer have a wire fitted to the breast before Surgery. This in turn ensures that the patient’s experience is not so harrowing, more accurate localisation of breast lumps and enables timetabling to be more efficient across both hospitals. The Sentimag Systems will benefit over 200 patients per year.
